A victory for Wildlife Conservation

This is the news report published in one of the leading newspapers, Deccan Herald, on 09-Mar-2010 on front page.

The Karnataka High Court, after much deliberation, ruled in favour of Wildlife Conservation and gave the verdict on the PILs filed by the following people :
  1. Srinivas Babu
  2. Wayanad Prakruti Samrakshana Trust
  3. Anup B Prakash
The demands of the conservationists were the following:
  1. Strict implementation of the night-traffic ban in Bandipur National Park, Karnataka.
  2. Effective speed calming measures to be installed on the Bandipur roads.
  3. Stop the road widening in Bandipur Tiger Reserve.
  4. Development of the alternate routes so that the ban on night traffic does not cause inconvenience to the people.
The Forest Department of Karnataka and other organizations helped a lot in this battle of Human Vs Humane.
